Clinic Directors:

Jonathan Pierce, LMT

Jonathan Pierce, LMT

Clinic Director

Jonathan’s interest in movement and healing began early; shaped by years of studying martial arts, acrobatics and meditation. Inspired by his grandfather, a massage therapist, Jonathan developed an early interest in physiology and bodywork. He went on to pursue formal training at Everest College in Seattle, graduating in 2010.

Jonathan’s approach to bodywork is both deep and precise, while remaining intuitive and gentle when needed. He integrates active and passive techniques to help the body release long-held patterns of tension and pain. Rather than forcing change, he believes true healing comes when the patient’s body is engaged in the process—facilitating lasting release, balance, and renewal.

Outside of his practice, Jonathan enjoys time with his wife and children, making art, playing music, and spending as much time as possible exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Sharon McNichols, LAC

Sharon McNichols, LAC

Acupuncturist

Sharon McNichols is honored to be part of each person’s healing journey. She brings a gentle, caring presence to her practice, with strong listening skills and an empathetic heart. Her goal is to work alongside patients to create balance and lasting wellness.

Drawn to natural living from an early age, Sharon studied psychology at St. Mary’s College and early childhood education at Utah State University before teaching for nine years. Her own struggle with asthma led her to acupuncture, where she found profound and lasting relief.

Inspired by this transformation, Sharon trained at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, graduating in 1993. She is licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners and certified by the NCCAOM. For ten years, she also supervised third-year students at OCOM as they cared for patients.

Through decades of practice, Sharon has seen how acupuncture can be truly transformative—supporting health on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels, and helping shift long-held patterns to restore balance and vitality.

James Ho, LAc, DACM

James Ho, LAc, DACM

Acupuncturist

For more than 11 years, James Ho has shared the healing art of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He received his Doctoral and Master’s degrees from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) in Texas, and now focuses on caring for the nervous, digestive, and immune systems. His work often supports those experiencing tingling, tremors, Bell’s palsy, shingles, stroke recovery, GI discomfort, skin conditions, and immune concerns, as well as circulatory and emotional imbalances such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, and fatigue.

James was drawn to holistic medicine for its gentle ability to treat the whole person. He believes in addressing the root of illness rather than only the symptoms, helping patients find lasting balance and renewed vitality.

Patients describe James as knowledgeable, warm, compassionate, and deeply present. He delights in meeting people where they are, listening to their stories, and walking beside them on their healing journey. Away from the clinic, you’ll find him with family, hiking wooded trails, gardening, making music, or chasing after his lively Australian Shepherd, Jordy.

Massage Therapists:

Brittany Henderson, LMT

Brittany Henderson, LMT

Massage Therapist

Brittany felt drawn to healing from a young age, and massage therapy became the perfect path for her heart and soul. She loves her work and is always eager to refine her technique, listening carefully to feedback from clients and peers to grow both as a therapist and as a person.

Her favorite modality is prenatal massage, enjoying the chance to care for two people at once and bring meaningful relief.  Relaxing, yet deep tissue massage is another of her strengths—she can deliver firm pressure when needed, or a gentler touch for those who prefer it. Brittany’s goal is to help everyone she connects with find balance, comfort, and a sense of wellness through natural, holistic care.

Outside the clinic, Brittany loves being in nature—swimming, camping, or riding her horse, Joy. She also enjoys spending time with her dogs and soaking up the serenity of the outdoors, especially among the trees.

Orion Johnson, LMT

Orion Johnson, LMT

Massage Therapist

Orion brings 15 years of massage experience to Holistic Health Clinic, many of which he spent working alongside his wife as a dedicated massage duo. Their shared passion for helping others led them naturally to this rewarding path. Orion specializes in deep tissue massage, focusing on trigger point and myofascial techniques to relieve both chronic and acute conditions with compassion. He believes that deep tissue work should stay within your tolerance, trusting that the body can heal itself through care and cooperation.

Fascinated by neuromuscular function, Orion continues to expand his knowledge to support clients with complex conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, and postural challenges.

At home, Orion thrives in a lively, loving household with multiple adults, children, and pets—including three dogs and a cat who thinks he’s a dog. He enjoys cooking, tinkering with computers, and embracing any opportunity to learn or lend a hand.

Sarah Macias, LMT

Sarah Macias, LMT

Massage Therapist

Sarah has been practicing massage in Portland since 2008. She earned a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oregon in 2006 and trained at East West College of Healing Arts in 2007. Known as “the velvet hammer,” she combines deep tissue and relaxation techniques with a soft, attentive touch—bringing care to every muscle, every moment, and every client.

Deeply intuitive and fully present, Sarah approaches each session as a conversation with the body. She sees beyond symptoms, understanding how nutrition, environment, and emotional well-being intertwine with physical tension. By listening with her hands and heart, she helps reveal the root of discomfort and supports the body’s natural ability to heal and restore itself.

Through her gentle yet purposeful touch, Sarah guides clients toward release, balance, and renewed awareness. Her work is an invitation to pause, reconnect, and find comfort—a space where the body, mind, and spirit are welcomed back into harmony.

Karyn Burk, LMT

Karyn Burk, LMT

Massage Therapist

I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and how all of its systems work together in harmony. As a child, I remember being mesmerized by the muscle diagrams and anatomical charts displayed in the clinics I visited. This curiosity eventually led me to enroll in massage school in 2013.

Alongside my interest in anatomy, I’ve always been drawn to metaphysics and how our thoughts and emotions relate to physical well-being — a connection beautifully explored in Louise Hay’s Heal Your Body. During massage school, I was introduced to CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and discovered a bodywork modality that perfectly aligned with my philosophy of the body’s innate ability to self-heal. I remain a lifelong student of metaphysics and personal growth, and CST has become the bridge that unites these two passions.

Outside of my practice, I am an avid reader and a member of a monthly book club where we share and explore new ideas together. When I’m not reading, I enjoy tending to my flower garden, journaling, assembling jigsaw puzzles, taking long walks with my dog, and camping with my husband and our yellow lab, Abigail.
